It gives you everyday chat with the Kimi K2.6 model on the web and in the apps, plus a small monthly allowance for bigger "agent" tasks. Kimi K3, Kimi Code and heavy use of the big tools need a paid plan, which starts at $19 a month.

Free-plan figures (6 credits, one task at a time, 200 data lookups, no Kimi K3) come from an independent pricing tracker that cites Kimi's help centre, last updated September 2026. Kimi's own help pages did not list the free plan when we checked on 8 October 2026, so confirm in the app.
Kimi's bigger tools run on credits. Chatting is the everyday part. Credits pay for the heavy work, where Kimi plans and carries out a whole task for you.
The free plan has about 6 credits a month. As a rough guide, that is enough for one of these:
Free chat uses Kimi K2.6. It is a good all-rounder, but it holds much less text at once than Kimi K3, so very long files may not fit.
Six credits go quickly. Building a website or running several research reports in a month is not realistic for free.
Paid users get priority. At peak times free users may wait longer or be asked to try again.
