You can make a real, working website with Kimi without writing code. You describe what you want, Kimi designs and builds it, and you publish it with one click. This guide walks you through it from first idea to live link.
Kimi builds the page block by block, shows it on a phone, then publishes it with a link.
Open Kimi Build and say what the site is for, the pages you need and the style.
Chat with Kimi, or click part of the preview and leave a note.
Press Publish and share your link, which ends in .ok.kimi.link.
Moonshot AI calls it Kimi Build (you may also see "Kimi Websites"). It is the part of Kimi that turns a description into a working website. It runs on the Kimi K3 model.
Kimi plans the pages, picks a layout and creates images and icons to match your style.
It writes the code for you. Sites can also have a login and a database to save information.
One click puts the site online with a link you can share. Every version is saved.
The "good fit" list follows Kimi's help pages. The "think twice" list is our own advice for a tool of this kind.
A little planning saves credits and time. Write down short answers to these before you start.
Your ticks are not saved if you close or reload this page.
Type what you want in plain words. The more clearly you describe it, the fewer rounds of changes you will need. Cover these four things:
Make a website for my coffee shop.
Kimi has to invent the pages, the style and the text.Build a website for my coffee shop, Bean Corner. Add a home page with a welcome message, a menu page with prices, opening hours and a contact form. Use warm brown and cream colours and a friendly, cosy style.
Kimi knows the pages, the look and the details from the start. Then send it and wait. Kimi plans the work, writes the code and opens a preview. A full site takes longer than a normal chat answer.
The preview opens beside the chat. Before you ask for changes, look at the whole site once.
There are two easy ways to change your site.
Describe the change in the message box:
Press Edit on the preview, click the part you mean and write a short note. You can add several notes and send them all at once.
Click the part you want to change, leave a note, and Kimi updates the site.
Until you publish, only you can see the site. To put it online:
Rules for the part you choose (highlighted): 3 to 30 characters, using lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. It cannot start or end with a hyphen, and it cannot be only numbers. Some words, such as "kimi" and "login", are not allowed.
Come back to the chat and ask for more changes. When a new version is ready, press Update to put it live.
Kimi saves every version (V1, V2 and so on). If a change goes wrong, press Restore on an older version.
Open the "…" menu and choose Unpublish. The site goes offline, but your work is kept so you can publish again.
Change the names and details to your own before you send.
Build a website for my coffee shop, Bean Corner. Add a home page with a welcome message, a menu page with prices, opening hours and a contact form. Use warm brown and cream colours and a cosy style.
Create a portfolio website for a photographer. Show the photos in a grid, add an About page and a contact page, and keep the design clean and minimal in black and white.
Build a landing page for a new fitness app. Include a headline, three key benefits, a pricing section with two plans, customer quotes marked as examples, and a sign-up button.
Make a one-page personal website for a marketing manager. Add a short bio, work history as a timeline, skills, and a contact section. Use a modern style with one accent colour.
Create a website for a community music festival. Add the date and place, the line-up, a timetable, a map section and a frequently asked questions section.
Build a BMI calculator web page. Let people switch between metric and imperial units, and show a short health tip with the result.
Check every page on a phone-sized screen. Fix anything that is too small, overlaps or needs sideways scrolling.
Rewrite the text on the home page so it is clear, friendly and short. Keep all the facts the same.
Add a clear page title and description to every page, use one main heading per page, and add alt text to all images.
More ideas: Kimi AI prompts.
You do not have to start with words alone.
Upload an image of a design and ask Kimi to build a page that looks the same.
Upload a short video of a site in use. Kimi tries to rebuild the look and how it moves.
Pick a ready-made template in Kimi Build and swap in your own text and pictures.
The site is yours to take away. Open All Files and download the whole project. You can then host it with another hosting service, which is also the way to use your own domain name.
| Feature | Publish with Kimi | Download and host it yourself |
|---|---|---|
| Effort | One click | You need a hosting service and some technical skill |
| Address | yourname.ok.kimi.link | Your own domain name |
| Kimi account login | Works | Does not come with the code |
| Kimi's built-in database | Works | Does not come with the code. You move your data to your own database |
| Best for | Sharing quickly, demos, personal sites | A long-term site you fully control |
On a small screen, swipe the table sideways to see every column.
Kimi Build runs on Kimi K3 and uses your plan's credits. A website is a big job, so it uses more credits than a normal chat, and more again for large sites or many rounds of changes. Kimi's help pages do not give a fixed price per site.
